All Neo4j GraphAcademy certifications are completely free. There is no fee to register, take, or retake an exam — and there never has been.
The pass mark varies by exam — it is shown on each certification card. Your score is displayed immediately after submission.
Each exam is 60 minutes long and consists of multiple-choice and multi-select questions. Our hands-on questions also require you to write some Cypher against a demo dataset to find the answer. Most candidates finish with time to spare.
Yes. You can retake any exam after a 24-hour waiting period. There is no limit on the number of attempts and retakes are free. Review your weakest topic areas before trying again.
Yes. You may consult neo4j.com/docs during the exam. The questions are designed to test working knowledge — knowing where to look is part of the skill — but you will not have time to look up every answer.
Neo4j certifications do not formally expire. We recommend re-certifying every two years to validate your skills against the latest version of Neo4j and capture new topics.
Prerequisite courses are strongly recommended but not required. If you have equivalent on-the-job experience you can register for the exam directly.
When you pass, you receive a certificate hosted on GraphAcademy. Add it to LinkedIn, your resume, or your email signature with one click. Each badge has a unique verification URL that anyone can check.
